Dr. Jack Choi is the founding doctor at Home Towne Family Medicine.  He is Board Certified in Family Medicine, and has been in practice since 1982.  Being from Canada, he believes in the five Cs of Family Medicine: Compassionate, Competent, Continuous, Comprehensive, Community-based Care.  He values patient participation in health care decisions, and is especially interested in health maintenance, disease prevention, and particularly the metabolic syndrome.

After six years of busy practice with Highline Medical Group at West Seattle and Des Moines, as well as Chairman of the Board, Clinical Medical Director, and Medical Director of Informatics, Dr. Choi is branching out to offer a new health care experience with Home Towne Family Medicine.  He believes that his many patients will welcome his higher availability, central location, and more personalized service.

Dr. Choi is currently Chief Medical Informatics Officer for Highline Medical Center.  In addition to his MD, he has a Bachelor's in Engineering Physics, and an MBA in Health Policy.  He is a Fellow of AAFP, and a certified MRO.  He has done research in Low Temperature Physics, Plasma Physics, muscle physiology, nerve regeneration, and nerve-computer interfaces.  His consulting career included TQM, Operations Research (Queuing), Paper to Computer Conversions, and EHR Implementation.  His interests include computers, health informatics, riding scooters, and traveling.

Dr. Karl Johnson, D.O. has joined our clinic on April 2, 2009.  He has been in the community for over 40 years, practicing musculoskeletal medicine as well as family medicine. 

Dr. Johnson was originally from Mt. Clemens, MI.  After attending College of Osteopathic Medicine in Des Moines, Iowa, he settled in the sunny Pacific Northwest.  He interned at Standring Memorial Hospital on Ambaum, then practiced in White Center, Seahurst, and finally Tukwila, before joining us here at Home Towne Family Medicine. 

With his skills and expertise in musculoskeletal medicine, he has been team doctor for football and basketball programs at Glacier, Evergreen, and Foster High Schools.  After sailing on their 35 foot sailboat for over 10 years, Dr. Johnson and his wife of 45 years, Marion, are now avid cyclists.  In addition to putting in thousands of miles in local trails and roads, they also go to Europe on a bicycle trip every summer.
